QWEST is a project funded by the European Union, and led by the University of Wales, Newport, to help people in Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Torfaen, Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf who want to get back into work.

Interested candidates may join QWEST as a Participant or as a Volunteer.  Participants benefit from a trained volunteer buddy to help them with application forms, CV writing, interview preparation and confidence building, training opportunities and opportunities for voluntary work placements.

Volunteers play a key role in helping participants overcome barriers and gain skills to move them towards employment.  Volunteers benefit from improving their job prospects, training and support from the local QWEST Development Officers and the opportunity for a career in Community Development through access to the Volunteer Training Pathway, from Level 1 all the way to Foundation Degree.
