Apprenticeships in Wales

Apprenticeships in Wales are increasingly recognised

as the gold standard for work-based training. Already,

more than 130,000 employers offer Apprenticeships.

Apprenticeships are work-based training programmes

designed around the needs of employers and learners.

These lead to nationally and internationally

recognised qualifications and are an

excellent way for your business to

develop your workforce.

Apprenticeships are available to all ages, so you can

take on a new starter or train existing employees.

Apprenticeships are designed by the Sector Skills

Councils (SSCs), while the Welsh Government funds

the training. SSCs are independent, employer led, UK

wide organisations designed to build a skills system that

is driven by employer demand.

Dependent on the discipline, Talk training can deliver

accredited qualifications from level 1 – 7, in partnership

with recognised awarding bodies.

Jobs Growth Wales

provides unemployed young people aged 16-24, with a

job opportunity for a six month period paid at national

minimum wage. Participants will be paid at or above

the national minimum wage for a minimum of 25

hours per week.
